Education and Qualifications
Dr Cherise Hattingh completed her undergraduate studies, earning her medical degree (MBCHB) from the esteemed University of Pretoria in 2011. Following her undergraduate studies, she pursued further specialization, obtaining her Master’s degree in Orthopaedic Surgery from the University of Pretoria in 2013 and from the South African College of South Africa in 2022.
Professional Experience
Dr Cherise Hattingh ‘s professional journey is marked by a diverse range of experiences, allowing her to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of orthopaedic care. Beginning her career with two years at Tembisa, she gained invaluable experience through her internship before dedicating a year to community service at Mamelodi. Following this, she spent an additional year at Mamelodi in emergency medicine and orthopaedic surgery.
Her career trajectory led her back to Tembisa, where she spent four years focusing on orthopaedic surgery before embarking on a new chapter at Steve Biko Hospital. After her departure from Government Health, Dr Cherise Hattingh ‘s commitment to providing quality care led her to Groenkloof Hospital, where she collaborated with Dr Denise Potgieter at the Pretoria CP Institute. This unique opportunity allowed her to specialize in treating patients with cerebral palsy, enhancing her ability to address the complexities of paediatric orthopaedics.
Presently, Dr Cherise Hattingh divides her time between her primary practice at Unitas and Groenkloof Hospital, where she continues to work with Dr Potgieter on challenging cases. Her dedication to her patients and passion for orthopaedic care are evident in her tireless efforts to provide the highest standard of treatment and support.
